Six months after the promulgation of the constitution, the government on Friday formed the 13-member committee comprising six deputy prime ministers, minister for finance, home minister, law minister, minister for general administration and representatives from the National Planning Commission.
According to leaders, Deuba will take up the issue with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli directly. The NC maintains that there should be consultations and understanding with the largest party in Parliament on the issues related to constitution implementation.
“NC has taken a lead in the implementation of constitution as well as addressing the demands of Madhes-based parties. Government should consult with us before taking any decisions,” said Congress’s Central Working Committee (CWC) member Prakash Sharan Mahat.
The NC has already expressed objection to the formation of a mechanism led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa.
