The Chitwan District Court on Sunday started recording statements of witnesses in the Krishna Prasad Adhikari murder case.
Information officer of the court Krishna Prasad Baral said they have started testifying defendants, plaintiffs and witnesses. According to Baral, the judge will make decisions after recording all the statements.
The district court began the process as the Apex Court order on December 21, 2015 to send main accused Chhabilal Paudel into the custody. Paudel is still at large.
Krishna Prasad was murdered by the then Maoist cadres after abduction in Ratnanagar-1, Chitwan on June 6, 2004 as he had been there to meet his grandparents.
The court recorded the statements from eight people on Sunday, according to Baral. Nanda Prasad, the father of Krishna Prasad, died while on hunger strike, whereas his spouse Ganga Maya has continued the strike, demanding justice.
