Following the share of spoils, TAC and APF were tied on seven points each from three matches but the latter topped the group on better goal difference. APF had 31 goals to their credit, one more than TAC with both teams already making it to the super league before Friday’s game. Dipa Rai put TAC ahead in the 23rd minute but APF defenders did well to contain them for rest of the match before a 77th minute strike from Sabitra Bhandari ensure them a point.
In the first match of the super league on Monday, Group ‘A’ winners Nepal Police Club will take on TAC. APF clash Group ‘A’ runners-up Eastern Region on Tuesday. “We played well in the first half creating chances, but failed to cope with the pressure in the second,” Army coach Chakra Tamang told the official website of All Nepal Football Association. APF coach Nar Kumar Rai said his side came regrouped after the first half. “We had no coordination in the first 45 minutes, but the girls’ found rhythm in the second half,” said Rai.
In an inconsequential game between the two already-eliminated sides from Group ‘B’, Western Region edged Far-western Region 2-1. It was first point in the tournament for Western Region.
Priyanka Rana had scored against the run of play netting in the 31st minute but Western hit back in the second half. Bimala BK levelled the scores in the 53rd minute and Sabina Bhattarai struck the winner in the 78th.
