Earlier on Monday, the Parliament Secretariat had suggested that May 3 would be the appropriate date for calling the budget session. The government’s policies and programmes, fiscal budget and formulation of laws for the implementation of the constitution would be the main businesses of the House.
Besides, the Parliament Secretariat is also planning to table some important bills as soon as the House session starts. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will unveil the government’s policies and programmes in the second week of May. Pre-budget discussions will take place in the third week of May, paving the way for the government to present the fiscal budget by Jestha 15 (May-end), as per the constitutional provisions.
