NRA Spokesperson Ram Thapaliya said that two engineers are deployed for each Village Development Committee of the 11 worst-affected districts. The technicians are hired by the Ministry of Urban Development to be deployed under the reconstruction authority.
“They will help with the distribution of government aid to quake survivors as well as provide advice on a design of the house to be reconstructed,” said Thapaliya.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, State Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Kunti Kumari Shahi and State Minister for Ministry of Urban Development Manju Kumari Chaudhary bid the engineers farewell amid a function on Wednesday.
Addressing the event, PM Oli called on the political parties for help in deploying volunteers for the post-earthquake reconstruction.
PM Oli urged the engineers to carry out their tasks as ‘Devdoot’ or god’s messengers to the quake survivors. “Every country is built with willpower of the people. We should show to the world that we can rebuild the country on our own,” he said.
