The third edition of the annual fair is being held after a gap of two years as the event had to be cancelled last year due to the earthquake.
The event will feature more than 100 higher secondary and university-level colleges in the country, said fair coordinator Navaraj Pandey, who is expecting around 200,000 visitors this time.
“This is one of the biggest platforms for prospective students to see that domestic educational institutions are capable of imparting quality education on par with the international standards,” Pandey said.
“We hope that students will be attracted to domestic colleges and stem the trend of going abroad.”
Kantipur and Hissan have been organising the education fair since 2013 aimed at promoting the domestic colleges, showcasing their facilities and programmes.
Teachers, principals and college operators in Nepal will be on hand at the event to counsel students who have completed their SLC and +2.
Assistant General Manager of Kantipur Publications Mahesh Swar said that the fair will help parents and students evaluate several colleges at one place and select the best institute.
“Kantipur Publications has been involved in this event so that the people get right information on higher education in Nepal,” he said.
