Maoists urged to rethink its decision

Speaking at an interaction programme in Hetauda on Wednesday, Thapa urged the Maoist chief to refrain from toppling the present government. “Dahal himself chairs high level political mechanism formed to run the government. It is unexpected and ill-timed to change the government now,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thapa.
Conceding that the present government led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has failed to work as per the people’s expectations, Thapa claimed all the parties in the ruling coalition, including the Maoists, were equally responsible for the success or the failure of the government. The frequent change of government would only weaken the national dignity and sovereignty, he said.
Meanwhile, the RPP-N has said that it will stand by the KP Sharma Oli-led government until the last hour amid speculation that the UCPN (Maoist) was pulling out of the coalition.
“RPP-N is a responsible party in the government and will defend the coalition,” the party said in a statement on Wednesday.
