A secretary and a technical assistant of Manaraja VDC in Saptari district have gone out of contact with Rs 2.2 million.A secretary and a technical assistant of Manaraja VDC in Saptari district have gone out of contact with Rs 2.2 million.
According to the District Development Committee (DDC), VDC Secretary Bindulal Chaudhary and Technical Assistant Dhirendra Prasad Yadav have not come into contact for the last 10 days.
The amount they were carrying was meant for distributing social security allowance to the elderly and physically challenged people. The money was released about a month ago.
The DDC has asked the District Administration Office to help find and detain its on-the-run employees.
The DDC came to know about the incident only after locals from Manaraja came to the office saying they had not got their social security allowance.
The villagers informed the DDC that they had not received their social security allowance since the beginning of this fiscal year.
“We repeatedly asked the VDC secretary to provide us the allowance but they kept on dilly-dallying. When we come to the DDC, we came to know that he had collected the money about a month ago,” said Sukan Mahato of Manaraja.
Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal said security personnel have been deployed to search the duo.
