A teenage girl was found dead in her rented room in Bhaktapur on Thursday.A teenage girl was found dead in her rented room in Bhaktapur on Thursday.
Eighteen-year-old Anjana Thapa’s body was discovered lying in a locked room on the fourth floor of a house belonging to Ganesh Duwal in Suryavinayak Municipality- 6, according to the Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Circle.
Thapa, who hailed from Ratamata VDC-2 of Nuwakot, was a Plus Two student at Koteshwor Multiple Campus in at Mahadevsthan.
According to house owner Duwal, her boyfriend used to frequent her room on a regularl basis. On Tuesday (May 3) also the girl had come to her room with her boyfriend and the room had remained closed the whole day from outside, police said quoting the house owner.
“It does not seem like suicide. We noticed blood clot on her nose,” said SP Kiran Bajracharya, adding that investigation is on. “It could be homicide after rape.”
We are trying to contact victim’s parents, said police. The body has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj for post-mortem.
Body recovered from river
A body of a man has been found in the Khasangkhusung river in Changunarayan Municipality-5.
Police have identified the victim as Dilbahadur Nepali, 50, of Bholachhey. He was out of contact for two weeks, said police, adding that he could have died of excessive drinking. The body, which was almost in a decomposed state, was identified by his son Dinesh Nepali after seeing a tattoo on his hand and his clothes.
