Drought leads to school closure

As the school administration could not supply drinking water to the students, the school management committee decided to close the school 12 days ago.
There are around 800 students studying in the school. The students were facing water shortage for past several days after the water source at Rimul dried up.
Teacher Bhim Singh Pun said he has already notified the District Education Office, District Development Committee and District Drinking Water Office about the situation.
Another teacher Ganja Bahadur Dalami said Rangshi, which is around 50 kilometres from the district headquarters, is facing water shortage as a result of drought. “Primary school near Janasewa School also has been closed due to water shortage,” he said.
Water shortage has also affected two other schools in Bhabang.
The VDC secretary of Bhabang said that they too were considering closing two primary schools as water shortage was getting worse.
