Though the CPN Maoist had called banda in the entire Tamsaling area, there was no substantial impact in Chitwan district.
Marketplaces were open and traffic movement was normal Narayanghat. Private schools, however, remained closed.
In Rasuwa, protesters pelted stones at a container truck (Na 5 Kha 3921) in the forest area at Laharepauwa-1. The driver was injured in the incident, said police.
Marketplaces, shops, schools and transportation service remained closed throughout the day in Nuwakot and Rasuwa. According to police, vehicles stayed off the Pasang Lamhu Highway the whole day.
Likewise, in Dhading, transport services were affected throughout the day.
People bound for Kathmandu, Pokhara and Narayanghat from Dhading Besi, the district headquarters of Dhading, were stranded due to banda.
Police escorted some vehicles along the Prithvi Highway.
The CPN Maoist had organised band demanding that police release its cadres who were arrested in these districts. The banda was called also to protest against corruption and price hike, said the party.
