A MoU was signed by Local Development Officer Raj Kishore Mahato and Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy Gyanveer Singh on May 30, the embassy said in its website on Friday.
“The new infrastructure will provide much needed space and would create an improved environment for socio-economic development,” the embassy’s said.
The assistance is a part of Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme funded by the Government of India under Small Development Programme Scheme.
On May 27, the Indian government had pledged an assistance of Rs43.72 million for to construct a building for Shree Higher Secondary School at Pathara in Rautahat district.
According to the embassy, India has extended financial assistance of approximately Rs 501.53 million to Nepal for renovation, restoration and upgradation of various sites in the financial year 2015-2016.
The India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme has an outlay of over NRs 76 billion with more than 529 large and small development projects in Nepal.
