The play has been written and directed by Ram KAC and explores through metaphors the inundation of the modern society by greed and hedonism.
“We artists split our lives between the roles we play and our actual lives. While living out the lives of others, we do, more often than not, happen to forget our own plights,” says director KAC, “With Awantar, I have tried, by weaving the narrative of our plights into the main body of the play, to examine how those who live their lives with honesty and virtue are bound to suffer in a material world.”
The play features actors Jitendra Khadka, Mahavir Bishwakarma, Keshav Rijal, Kuma Simkhada and Ena Deuja, among others.
The play will be at Theatre Mall, in the Kathmandu Mall, everyday (except for Wednesdays) till June 14. Tickets are priced at Rs 250 and Rs 150 (for students).
