Nirwi, who is a well-seasoned script writer, launched his new offering at the Theatre Mall in the Capital over the weekend with actor Dayahang Rai, authors Yug Pathak and Kumari Lama and critic Ahuti joining him at the unveiling.
At the launch Rai lauded the book as he explored the “back story” behind it. “I have read his scripts, and now I have read his stories as well. In both forms, Nirwi’s characters take centre stage and help take the intriguing narrative forward,” the Rahadani-star said.
Speaking at the event, Nirwi expressed his excitement at being able to bring his latest presentation to the market. “Writers have an important role in the society,” he said, “And it is my hope that more literature is created so that it can keep serving that function.”
In the same vein, author Lama said, “This collection takes on some of the harder and seldom-talked-of themes of our society. The manner in which the book explores gender issues in our society is really touching.”
Author Nirwi, who began his career with penning radio dramas, also penned the scripts for films such as the Priyanka Karki-starrer Wada No 6, Shree Panch Ambare and Antaraal. Sawaan Jhari has been published by Legends Books and features a total of 20 stories.
