Gurung clinches double gold

Gurung won the men’s 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly. Gurung clocked 2:18.79 to win the 200m freestyle ahead of Anubhav Subba (2:28.13) of DAV and Avirajahan Shini Thakuri who timed 2:30.80. He later won the 100m fly in 1:10.87 beating Subba (1:16.28) and Nisir Yagha Hussain (1:21.39).
Shreetika Singh won the women’s 200m freestyle finishing the course in 2:41.22. Singh beat Tisa Shakya (2:47.90) and Ayushma Tuladhar (3:02.13). Bedagya Raj Joshi claimed the men’s 50m breaststroke gold clocking 47.22 seconds. Nimesh Budhathoki (43.18) and Yashiv Manandhar (38.92) took silver and bronze respectively.
Duana Lama triumphed in the women’s 50m breaststroke final with a timing of 47.25 leaving behind Yam Kumari Bhujel (47.50) and Aksara Singh (45.90). Subba finally earned some solace when he won the men’s 100m backstroke in 1:21.94 pushing Dipesh Chaudhary (1:22.59) and Rahab Moktan (1:27.60) to silver and bronze. Simran Manandhar won the women’s 100m backstroke clocking 1:38.94. Shakya (1:33.79) and Aksara Singh (1:39.69) took silver and bronze respectively.
Hussain claimed his first gold of the tournament winning the men’s 50m butterfly in 37.22 seconds. He left behind Subba (31.20) and Dilip Thapa Magar (30.30). Swor-nima Tamang won the women’s 50m fly clocking 45.87 seconds. Niharika Tuladhar (40.30) got silver and Shakya (37.89) bagged bronze.
Rahab Moktan and Tuladhar won the U-17 boys and girls 50 breaststroke finals, while Roshan Pun and Oshina Bharati claimed the U-17 50m butterfly gold. Himalaya International Model School and Lincoln School triumphed in the U-17 boys and girls 4x50m butterfly finals.
