Over 700 war crimes reported in Banke

The deadline for complaint registration with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) ends on Thursday. However, the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) has extended the deadline by one month.
On Tuesday, Central Vice-chairman of Nepal Bar Association and advocate Salikram Sapkota registered complaints against the then Royal Nepal Army, for torturing him in detention. Sapkota was abducted and forcefully disappeared for four months. The TRC has received 609 such complaints, while the CIEDP has registered 114 complaints so far.
