Talk on yoga held in Capital

Dr Nagendra was a key note speaker at a programme organised as part of celebrations of the 2nd International Day of Yoga.
The talk programme was organised by the BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and the Embassy of India in Kathmandu under the “Voices” series.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anand Prasad Pokharel, who was the chief guest at the programme, also shared his views on the benefits of yoga and announced that the government would organise an even event to celebrate the 2nd International Day of Yoga at Durbarmarg at 7am on June 21.
The programme was also attended by members of yoga associations and meditation institutes in Nepal, according to a press statement issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
Also speaking at the programme, Swami Anand Arun of Osho Tapoban highlighted the need for meditation as part of yoga practices.
Indian Ambassador Ranjit Rae said, “Yoga is the common heritage of our two countries and its regular practice improves not only physical health but also mental spiritual well-being.”
