Three members of a family died of suspected alcohol poisoning at Sahasaula in Mahottari district on Saturday.
Police said Ram Briksha Malli, 70, his son Ram Prakash, 40, and son-in-law Pancha Malli, 45, were found dead in their sleep on Sunday. They had visited a local pub to drink on Saturday evening.
One Badri Malli, who was taken ill after drinking at the same place, is undergoing treatment at a health post in Ramgopalpur, said Superintendent of Police Janak Bhattarai. He adding that the pub owner is on the run. Police have confiscated the killer moonshine and shut down the establishment.
