The accused from Gangoliya in Tilottama Municipality had allegedly raped the girl on June 16.
The victim, a permanent resident of Nepalgunj, was in the area to visit Lumbini.
Sheshman Tharu and Tai Bahadur Thapa of Tilottama-9; Gautam Prasad Chaudhary, Yagya Prasad Chaudhary and Ashish Chaudhary of Tilottama-7 and Hom Prasad Chaudhary of Tilottama-2 have been held on charge of raping the girl, said DSP Mahendra Khadka. “We are searching for three other persons involved in the crime,” he added.
According to police, the girl had met Sheshman Tharu and Krishna Chaudhary while visiting the Lumbini area.
“We were on our way to Lumbini when they gave us a ride on their motorbikes. After returning from Lumbini, they forcefully took me to the farmland,” the victim told the Post. Her friend, however, managed to flee the scene, said police.
DSP Khadka said a rape charge has been filed against the arrestees.
