DPM: Local polls will address demands of marginalised groups

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Bahadur Rawal has said that the demands of marginalised groups would be addressed after the local body elections. 

Addressing the inauguration session of the 4th National General Convention of Nepal Chepang Association in Chitwan on Friday, Rawal assured the participants that the community’s demands too will be addressed after the local polls. The deputy prime minister added that the government was determined build roads and educational and health infrastructure in Chepang settlements. 

A country’s development is only possible if its marginalised communities are given equal opportunities, he added.

There are around 70,000 Chepang  people in the 

country.
