MoU signed to train small entrepreneurs

KATHMANDU: Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on providing taxation related training to the small and medical entrepreneurs. Amid concerns over low knowledge about taxation among small entrepreneurs, the MoU was signed for providing training on income tax, value added tax (VAT) and auditing among others so that tax laws are adhered to, said the FNCCI in a press release. In the first phase, entrepreneurs from Banke, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Rupandehi and Kavrepalanchowk will be trained. Two trainers have been selected from each district and they were given trainers’ training for a week. The training programme is expected to help more than 200 taxpayers of five districts, according to FNCCI. (PR)

 

Subisu Station at Sukhedhar 

KATHMANDU: Subisu Cablenet, an internet, networking and television service provider, has launched a new sales outlet “Subisu Station” at Sukhedhara in Kathmandu. Through this station, Subisu aims to facilitate its customers in the vicinity by providing necessary retail based services--information, new connections and after sales support--in a convenient manner, the company said in a press release. Subisu aims to cater better pre- and post-sales services to its valued customers through its experienced staff. The company currently runs “Subisu Station” at Jhamsikhel in Lalitpur, and at Ranibari and Sukedhara in Kathmandu. (PR)

 

LifeCom cuts Lenovo smartphone prices

KATHMANDU: Lenovo smartphone’s sole distributor for Nepal, LifeCom Pvt Ltd has announced a drop in price on selected range of smartphones. Prices of Lenovo A319W, A328W, A536W and A5000 models have been reduced, according LifeCom. After the revision, Lenovo A319W now costs Rs6,750, while Lenovo A328W is now available for Rs8,150. Lenovo A536W is priced at Rs10,650 and Lenovo A5000 at Rs12,850. These models were previously priced at Rs7,500, Rs10,000, Rs12,200 and 15,200 respectively. (PR)

 

Lions Cardiac Centre set up in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Lions Cardiac Treatment Centre has been established at Western Regional Hospital Pokhara with support from Lions International Foundation (LCIF), Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Lions District 

325 B 1 Nepal. The centre has been set up with an aim to provide good care facilities to heart patients in Pokhara and surrounding districts, the LCIF said in a statement, adding that the centre will provide some financial support to patients with low financial means for their treatment. (PR)

KATHMANDU: Following on the success of Goodlife Biscuits, Goodlife has introduced chocolate enrobed wafer “Choco Luv”. The wafer is available all over the market for Rs5, the company announced in a press release. “Just as our other products Choco Luv will be loved by consumers,” it added. (PR)
