In an address during the inauguration of Janata Secondary School building at Tinkoni of Dhangadi Municipality-5 in Siraha, Minister Pokharel said the recently amended Education Act “prevents schools from becoming a mess due to the prevalent trend among the teachers’ to join political parties and not attend classes”.
“The new Act bars teachers from being in any parties’ working committees,” he said.
Minister Pokharel added that the teachers’ associations and organisations should make contributions in achieving educational goals.
Stating that new Education Act will help end anomalies in the education sector, Minister Pokharel said it also envisions major reforms in the education sector. He also said that the government was working to make elementary education mandatory and free of cost.
