CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged the Nepali Congress to give up the ‘politics of revenge’.CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged the Nepali Congress to give up the ‘politics of revenge’.
Addressing a programme in Kavre district on Monday, Dahal said the main opposition party should not think of sidelining the CPN-UML with the support of the Maoist Centre. He also warned the UML to take the issue of government formation seriously.
The Maoist chief asked the UML and the NC to understand that the game of government toppling was not going to take the country anywhere. He reiterated the need for a national consensus government.
Dahal said that he was ready to lead the government if there is consensus among the parties about it.
Chairman Dahal made such remarks after UML leaders present at the programme criticised him for trying to bring down the incumbent government.
He also claimed that there was no truth behind rumours that he was aspiring to become the next prime minister.
The former PM underscored the need for a consensus government for constitution implementation and post-earthquake reconstruction.
