Khadka takes 2nd day lead

The Royal Nepal Golf Club pro’s two-round total of five-under 139 meant, he moved three strokes clear of second-placed Ramesh Adhikari, who also carded an identical three-under 69 on Tuesday. Two strokes further behind in third was Bhuwan Nagarkoti, who shot two-under 70 for a total of one-under 143.
Nepal No 1 Shivaram Shrestha improved on his first round card to shoot three-under 69, five shots behind the leader at even-par 144. Amateur golfer Tashi Tshering carded two-over 74 for a total of even-par 144 to finish tied with Shivaram.
Sanjay Lama was alone at sixth after carding even-par 72 for a total of one-over 145. The first round leader Jayaram Shrestha had a day to forget as he shot six-over 78 for a total of two-over 146. He was tied for seventh with Ramesh Nagarkoti, who shot two-under 70.
Tanka Bahadur Karki scored five-over 77 for a total of six-over 150 to lie second behind Tshiring in the amateur category. A stroke further down was Prithivi Malla, who shot five-over 77.
Khadka sank birdies on the first, third and fifth holes in a flawless front nine card of three-under 33. His back nine card of even-par 36 included a birdie on the 12th and a bogey on the last hole. Adhikari scored one-under 35 on the front nine with two birdies and a bogey, while on his way back he shot two-under 34 with the help of three birdies against a bogey.
Nagarkoti carded two-under 34 on the front nine and even-par 36 on the back nine. Shivaram played a two-under 34 on the front nine with birdies on third and eighth holes. He parred next eight holes before ending the day with a birdie on the last hole.
In all, 46 golfers—31 pros and 15 amateur—are taking part in the final event held under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2015-16. The champions will walk away
with Rs 100,000, while the second and third-placed pros with earn Rs 63,000 and Rs 45,000 respectively. Other pros, who made the cut for the final two rounds, will also get their share of cash prizes.
