A Cabinet meeting on Friday was postponed without entering the agenda due to the absence of ministers from the CPN (Maoist Centre).A Cabinet meeting on Friday was postponed without entering the agenda due to the absence of ministers from the CPN (Maoist Centre).
Sources said the move was in line with the decision of the Maoist party. The Maoist politburo meeting on Thursday had decided to seek answers from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on implementation of the nine-point agreement he had signed with the Maoist party prior to the tabling of budget in Parliament.
Without a satisfactory answer from the PM, the party would not let the House pass the budget.
“We boycotted the Cabinet meeting to press for implementation of the nine-point agreement,” said a Maoist minister.
Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai said the meeting was postponed as the PM was scheduled to attend a programme in Dhulikhel. He also said ministers were busy as they were required to respond to the questions raised by lawmakers during the deliberation on the Appropriation Bill in Parliament on Friday.
