Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that his party is not in the game of changing the government.

Talking to reporters in Kavre on Saturday, Sitaula said there was no alternative to political consensus among the major parties for the implementation of the new constitution.

“Congress is not involved

in the game of changing

the government. There has been no discussion in the party regarding government change. Those parties who forged consensus to promulgate the constitution should work together for its implementation as well,” said the NC leader. He added that no political party has held formal talks with the NC regarding the formation of a consensus government.

Sitaula, however, charged the present government with not being serious about implementing the constitution and holding the elections. “Only announcing the election date is not enough. Necessary

laws for elections should be formulated first. And

agreement among the parties is a must even to formulate such laws,” said the former home minister.
