Koirala discharged from hospital

Koirala was admitted to the hospital on July 5 after he complained of abdominal discomfort and shortness of breath.
Dr Harish Joshi, medical director at the hospital, said Koirala has been advised to take rest for another two weeks. “His reports are normal,” said Dr Joshi. Koirala has been advised to visit the hospital for a follow-up in a week.
Immediately after Koirala was brought to the hospital on the night of July 5, doctors had listed him as critical, saying he had suffered multiple organ dysfunction due to aspiration pneumonia, a condition caused when food and other substances are inhaled. Significant improvements in his health condition were seen after two days and he was taken off the ventilator.
Around a dozen noted doctors were involved in Koirala’s treatment.
