Oli was hinting at possible attempts of the government to amend the constitution to address the concerns of the agitating Madhesi and Janajati parties, something that the previous Oli-led government had restricted.
Addressing a programme organised by the party department here on Saturday, Oli claimed that the ruling parties had led the nation on a wrong path by ignoring the politics of consensus.
Oli warned that the NC and the Maoists would face the consequences of toppling his government. He said the two parties were startled after the UML-led government came up with a plan to implement the constitution. The second largest party would deploy its organisation against the plot “not to let the constitution be implemented”.
The party has called a
meeting of its Standing Committee on Sunday to
discuss a strategy to foil constitution amendment as sought by the agitating Sanghiya Gathabandhan.
