B’desh mission observes ‘Nat’l Mourning Day’

Bangladeshi Ambassador Mashfee Binte Shams hoisted the country’s flag at half-mast and placed floral wreaths in front of the portrait of Mujibur Rahman.
A discussion session on Mujibur Rahman was also organised where speakers recalled his achievements and extolled his single minded devotion to the cause of the people of Bengal and his uncompromising position against exploitation and autocracy and his vision of establishing “Sonar Bangla”, the embassy said in a release. A documentary on the historic March 7 speech of the Mujibur Rahman was also screened.“Though Banga-bandhu had been assassinated 41 years ago, his legacy lives on and he continues to inspire Bangalees in their fight against terrorism, militancy, extremism and bigotry.”
