Ganesh Raj Karki, the new spokesperson for the CIAA, confirmed that the anti-graft body “is going to apprise the Kathmandu-based international community of its activities and progress”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already circulated invitations to all the diplomatic missions in Kathmandu for the briefing to be held the at the CIAA headquarters.
Sources said the Kathmandu-based diplomatic community of late had started talking about the activities of the CIAA and controversies surrounding it, especially in the wake of the anti-graft body’s tussle with Parliament and the Supreme Court.
Spokesperson Karki, however, claimed that neither CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman Singh Karki nor other commissioners will be present during the briefing.
“Krishna Hari Pushkar, the previous spokesperson for the CIAA, is leaving
for another job. I will be accompanied by him for the briefing,” said Spokesperson Karki.
The CIAA is expecting deputy chief of missions and first secretary level officials at the briefing.
