Nepali taekwondo player Nisha Rawal lost the women’s above 67kg category repachage quarter-final match to French opponent Gwladys Epangue 4-3 on Saturday. The 21-year-old Rawal got the opportunity to compete for bronze medal as the opponent against whom she lost—China’s Zheng Shuyin on Friday—in the round of 16 made it to the final. Shuyin, who went on to clinch the gold medal, had also beaten the French opponent in the quarter-finals. The defeat completes Nepal Rio campaign when ended without any significant performance bar personal milestones set by swimmer Sirish Gurung and athlete Saraswoti Bhattarai. In all, seven players from five disciplines represented Nepal in the Olympics.
