Seven injured as truck plunges into Trishuli

The incident site lies about 3 km south of Kalikhola where a Pokhara-bound bus plunged into the river on Friday, killing at least 22 people.
The truck (Na 3 Kha 4556) was heading to Muglin carrying sand. Personnel from the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF) rescued the injured immediately and taken to Chitwan Medical College. Truck driver Prakash BK of Chitraban, Kabita Chaudhary and Jota Sharma of Madi are in critical condition, police said.

Police have identitied all the 22 people killed in Friday’s bus accident. The Pokhara-bound bus (Ga 1 Kha 3709) met with an accident at Kalikhola of Chandi Bhanyang VDC along the Narayangadh-Muglin section of the highway when it skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river.
The identities of 21 victims were established on Friday itself, while the deceased identified on Saturday was Kanchan Shah, 14, of Banjara-1, Rautahat district. The bodies have been handed over to their respective families, while 16 injured in the incident are undergoing treatment at two hospitals in Bharatpur, Chitwan, police said.
Meanwhile, the security personnel continued their search in the river for four missing persons. Rescuers from the Nepal Police and APF divers searched the victims around the incident site and a few kilometers downstream but to no avail till Saturday evening.
