Police confirmed 22 deaths and four missing cases in the incident. However, police have received 12 missing persons complaint related to the bus accident.
“My brother boarded the bus for Pokhara to attend examination of Teachers Service Commission . He went missing after the accident,” said Bijaya Prasad Sah of Khesraiya-7 in Rautahat.
The relatives of missing passengers claimed the bus staffers might not have registered their kin as they boarded the vehicle from mid-way.
“These people who are believed to have been missing are not in the passenger record of the bus. We are investigating the matter,” said Superintendent of Police Basanta Kunwar.
A team of divers from Armed Police Force disaster management training centre has been searching for the missing.
The bus (Ga 1 Kha 3709) en route to Pokhara from Rautahat had plunged around 200 meters into the Trishuli river at Chandibhanjyang-6 on Friday.
