NPC, Tops enter semi-finals

The two teams filed contrasting victories in their quarter-final matches held at the National Sports Council covered hall. While NPC were given a tough fight by their departmental archrivals Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in a 25-22, 24-26, 20-25, 25-19, 15-5 victory, Tops eased to straight sets victory of 25-7, 25-11, 25-9 over Kavre District Volleyball Association.
The two winners will now meet in the semi-finals on Sunday. In another semi-final, title contenders Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club will meet New Diamond Academy. Western Region and TAC, meanwhile, entered the men’s semi-finals.
Western Region rallied from a set down to beat Dhorpatan Volleyball Club 21-25, 25-7, 25-21, 25-17 and TAC cruised past Mani Mukunda Volleyball Club of Butwal 25-12, 25-10, 25-15.
In the men’s semi-finals on Sunday, Help Nepal, who had stunned strong-looking Nepal Police Club in the quarter-finals on Friday, will play APF and Western Region will take on the Armymen. The winners in both the categories will take home Rs 125,000 and runners-up will get Rs 50,000.
