Chula Chuli beat Halchowk Higher Secondary School 1-0 in the final of the boys’ category, while Durga School clinched the title without taking to the field after their supposed opponents Bal Kalyan School of Morang was disqualified for fielding “ineligible players” during their 3-0 semi-final win over Nepal Rashtriya Higher Secondary School of Kathmandu on Monday. In fact, both the teams were disqualified after complaint lodged by both teams against each other were deemed correct.
Nepal Rashtriya had protested that their opponents fielded college players, while Bal Kalyan had lodged complaint against Nepal Rashtriya for fielding players who featured in the National League. The Anfa disciplinary committee found both the allegation as true and so disqualified both the teams. The decision meant Durga, who had defeated Ideal School of Kathmandu 1-0 in the other semi-final match on Monday, was declared the champions.
In the boys’ final held at the Anfa complex in Satdobato, Amar Rai scored the wining goal in the 35th minute to hand Chula Chuli the trophy. Bhanubhakta Memorial Morang defeated Scholar’s Home of Rupandehi 4-2 in tiebreaker to win the third-place playoff. The boys’ champion received Rs 3,00,000 and the runners up got Rs 1,50,000. Third and fourth-placed sides were awarded with Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 each.
The girls’ champion Durga School walked away with Rs. 2,00,000 and runners-up Ideal School took home Rs 1,00,000.
