Mahat attends UN meetings

According to Nepal’s permanent mission in New York, Nepal highlighted the importance of transit cooperation to meet special needs of the LLDCs. On the sidelines of the UNGA, Foreign Minister Mahat called on Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, to discuss matters including ongoing preparations for the 19th Saarc Summit in Pakistan and promoting trade and investments in Nepal.
Mahat also held a bilateral meeting with his Norwegian counterpart Børge Brende. Mahat also met with Alok Sharma, the British minister for Asia. US Under-Secretary of State Thomas Shannon paid a courtesy call on Mahat.
