Jackal terror in Rautahat: 40 wounded

Eighteen people, who were seriously wounded, have been referred to Sukraraj Tropical Infectious Disease Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment. The other injured received treatment at local health
facilities.
Most of the attacks took place on Monday evening and early Tuesday morning in places, including Garuda, Mohammadpur, Piparapacharukhi and Gamhariya.
Dr Nageshwor Jayaswal, the chief of Gaur Hospital, said they referred 18 wounded people to Kathmandu as they needed to be treated under the care of specialists.
The medicines required for their treatment are also not available in the district, Dr Jayaswal said.
As for the other patients, he added, they were administered anti-rabies vaccines and wound dressing. Meanwhile, the terrorised villagers have started to hunt down the jackals in their areas. They killed two jackals on Tuesday.
