A series of rockslides for the last 10 days is causing frequent traffic jams in the area along the Prithvi Highway.
The highway section is only fit for a single-lane traffic flow at the moment as work is underway to clear the obstruction, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Surendra Bahadur Gurung.
People travelling through the highway are forced to spend hours on end, with long queues of vehicles waiting to cross the rockslide-hit area.
Bhanu Joshi, engineer at the Division Road Office (DRO) in Tanahun, said that resuming the two-way traffic flow along the Aina Paharo area is going to take some time as most of the office staff have gone home for Dashain.
