CHITWAN: Himalayan Sherpa Club beat Boys Union Club (BUC) 3-1 to enter the quarter-finals of the 12th Bikas Running Shield Invitational football tournament here at the Campachaur on Saturday. Miyong Feno scored a brace after Bishnu Gurung had provided the Sherpas the 11th minute lead. Bijay Poudel scored for BUC. Morang FC will take on Sahara Club in the first quarter-final match on Saturday. The champions will earn Rs 300,000. (PR)

 

Kickoff hammer Imperial

KATHMANDU: Kickoff Futsal hammered Imperial 7-3 in the Red Bull National Futsal League on Saturday. Held at the own backyard in Sitapaila, man-of-the-match Prabesh Joshi struck a hat-trick, while Rajesh Kunwar, Tejendra Thapa, Rajin Pandey and Bijay Shrestha scored a goal each for Kickoff. Surendra Budathoki scored twice and Nirajan Bikram Gair added the another for Imperial. Kickoff lead the Group ‘A’ standing ahead of Dhuku. In the day’s another game, Tahachal Futsal dispatched hosts Kumari Futsal 6-2. Sunil Basnet struck twice and man-of-the-match Raj Shahi, Binay Maharjan, Yukesh Limb and Jiten Karki added one goal apiece for Tahachal. Rajiv Lopchan and Ronish Shrestha replied for Kumari. Batase Trail Run on January 13

KATHMANDU: The second Batase Trail Run, organised jointly by Friends of Himalaya Children and Altra Trail Nepal, is scheduled for January 13. The main event-65km run-starts from Thamel en route to Maharajgunj, Narayanthan, Shivapuri, Chisapani, Thakani Chaur, Melamchi Bazar before ending in Batase in Sindhupalchowk. Top three runners will receive Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000. The event will also see 25km races for men and women apart from 12km run for Under-16 boys and girls. (PR)
