VP suggests parties work in unison
Says consensus among all parties is imperative for effective implementation of the constitutionVice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has urged all parties to make a single stand for holding three-tier elections in the country.
Inaugurating the first Tamu Saarc Assembly in Dharan on Sunday, Pun said that once the disgruntled political parties were brought on board, it would help ensure their ownership on the constitution.
According to him, consensus among all political parties was imperative for effective implementation of the constitution. “Common stand among political parties could drive country towards economic, social and political progress,” Pun said.
On different note, the Vice President said different languages, religions and cultures should be promoted and preserved in the country to maintain the diverse glory of the nation. He said Tamu community has protected its glorious cultures and tradition and therefore it is recognized across the globe.
Tamu delegations from India, Burma, Bhutan, USA and some gulf countries including Nepal are attending the assembly. The assembly concluded on Monday.
