Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav has dismissed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s fresh four-point plan on constitution amendment as a “stale proposal”.
Speaking at an interaction in the Capital, Yadav, also the coordinator of the Sanghiya Gathabandhan which is an alliance of Madhesi and Janajati forces, said the Gathabandhan had rejected the proposal long time ago and that PM Dahal should rather utilise the remaining few days to translate his earlier commitment into action, hinting at the agitating forces’ plan to launch protests after Chhath.
“We never set any deadline for PM Dahal to register a constitution amendment proposal in Parliament,” said Yadav. “He himself has been setting deadlines and failing to meet them. It will be better if he keeps his word this time.” PM Dahal has been saying that the government will register an amendment proposal before Chhath.
Yadav added that the Madhes-based parties would withdraw their support to the government the moment they take to the streets.
