An unidentified group had abducted Sikindar Kumar Yadav from Sonama-1 while he was riding a motorcycle home from Parsadewad on Thursday night. He had contacted the Armed Police Force border outpost in Khayarbanni.
Yadav, who has been secured by the police, said seven assailants had held him hostage at an undisclosed location blindfolded. Showing his swollen limbs, he said the abductors had chained and tortured him.
The victim told the police that the assailants had robbed him of Rs15,000 and a cell phone. Yadav said the abductors had left him in a forest on Friday night and fled.
The criminals are thought to have abandoned him as they could not take him to India due to tight security along the border. Nepali Police and the APF personnel were heavily mobilised soon after his abduction. (PR)
