Speaking at a party programme organised in Janakpur on Thursday, UML leaders Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Ishwar Pokharel said none of disgruntled sides had made it clear why the constitution promulgated last year should be amended a second time. But if they came up with genuine reasons for amendment, the UML would definitely not obstruct the process, they said. Nepal said it would be unwise to call the constitution signed by more than 90 percent Constituent Assembly members “incomplete”. Hinting at the Madhes-based parties, the former prime minister added: “Let’s discuss the contentious issues of the constitution and try to forge consensus on it. But let’s not create trouble by raising unnecessary issues.”
