Coca-Cola rolls out ‘Coke Zero’
The Coca-Cola Company, a subsidiary of Bottling Investments Group, on Tuesday launched “Coca-Cola Zero” in the domestic market. According to the company, it has rolled out the new product in 15 cities across the country.
“Coca-Cola Zero”, popularly called “Coke Zero”, is claimed to be one of the fastest selling products under the brand globally. Coke Zero is sold in 150 countries.
In Nepal, the company sells Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Maaza, Schweppes, Kinley and a number of juices.
Launching the product, Regional Director of Bottling Investments Group T Krishnakumar said they introduced “Coke Zero” based on the success the product enjoyed in international market. The company has installed a separate manufacturing unit in Nepal for the purpose.
The company has introduced “Coke Zero” in three packs — 500ml regular bottle at Rs65, 300ml at Rs75, and 180ml priced Rs45.
Venkatesh Kini, president of Coca-Cola India and South West Asia, said the launch was part of their plan to diversify the portfolio in line with changing taste and preference of consumers. “The launch completes our Red-Grey-Black suite under the Coca-Cola One Brand strategy,” he said.
Coca Cola is one of the fast selling non-alcoholic beverages in Nepal.
Besides the business, Coca-Cola Nepal, as part of its corporate social responsibility, has been supporting in improving hygiene in schools under “My School Initiative”.
Under its “STAR Retailer” training programme, Coca-Cola Nepal is also working towards empowering women retailers, which is part of The Coca-Cola Company’s global “5BY20” initiative.
The company has partnered with Himalayan Climate Initiative and GIZ for a PET Recollection Social enterprise that encourages recycling of PET waste.
