Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Friday that the government would register a constitution amendment proposal in Parliament “within four days”.
Addressing the media in Singha Durbar marking the first 100 days of his government, Dahal said there was “green signal” for all the major stakeholders, including the main opposition CPN-UML and agitating Madhesi and Janajati forces, for the constitution amendment.
Some key issues that the amendment proposal needs to address are matters related to provincial boundaries, citizenship and representation in the Upper House.
Regarding the row over provincial boundaries, PM Dahal said some districts would be rearranged.
On Thursday, Dahal held talks with his party leaders about accommodating Pyuthan, Rolpa, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi and Baglung in Province 4.
Dahal also reiterated that he would work to forge national consensus on impeachment motion against Lok Man Singh Karki, the suspended chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority. About the achievements in the first 100 days, PM Dahal said his government strengthened bilateral relations with the two neighbouring countries.
