Chand Maoists ‘capture’ Murarka’s land

The Maoist activists, led by the party’s district secretary Sarad Rasaili, seized the property by putting up party flags. They charged Murarka with evading tax and promoting land mafia and black marketeering. Security personnel removed the flags later. (PR)
‘Constitution won’t be amended’
SIRAHA: CPN-UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai has said the constitution would not be amended due to the growing differences between his party and the Madhes-based forces. The working style of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal also hindered constitution amendment, he claimed. Speaking at a party programme here on Saturday, Bhattarai said the Madhesi parties had refused to resolve problems though the UML-led ruling coalition had offered better options than the incumbent government. Man beats brother to death
KANCHANPUR: A man beat his brother to death over a land dispute at Beldadi-4 in the district on Saturday. Kaman Singh Bista had attacked his brother Lokendra with a spade, said police. The 25-year-old died on the spot. The accused has been arrested. (PR)
