“Elections of the local bodies should not be linked with other issues. The local body polls should be held soon at any cost. Otherwise constitutional crisis may arise in the country,” UML leader Nepal told a press meet in Lahan on Sunday. He said the local elections should be held even in the old structure if local level restructuring is not possible soon. “I agree with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s remarks of holding election elections even in the old structure.”
In another context, Nepal asserted that former king Gyanendra’s dream of reviving monarchy in the country by taking advantage of the current political instability will never be materialised. “He should open a political party if he wants to get into politics,” said Nepal.
Meanwhile, activists of Madhes-based parties waved black flags to UML leader Nepal in the district. They even chanted slogans against Nepal during the press conference.
