Fire at plastic factory destroys property worth Rs 2.5 million

BHAKTAPUR: A fire that broke out at a plastic factory at Changu Narayan-4 in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday night gutted properties worth over Rs 2.5 million. The fire, according to police, was caused because of electric short circuit. The fire reduced the raw materials into ashes and damaged the equipment inside the factory owned by Saraswati Timilsena, according to the Metropolitan Police Sector Kharipati. Police and the locals had brought the fire under control. (RSS)


Man held with counterfeit notes

ITAHARI: A 22-year-old man has been arrested in possession of counterfeit currency in Sunsari. Pashupati Mahato of Haringara-3 was arrested with two fake notes of denomination 1,000 from Bharaul-3, police said on Wednesday. Mahato was apprehended after he had used the fake bills to purchase a noodle and a mobile phone recharge card at Pusaha Bazaar. (PR) 


18 injured in four-way crash 

NAWALPARASI: Eighteen people were injured in a road accident at Gaindakot in Nawalparasi district along the East-West Highway on Tuesday night. The incident took place when four vehicles-Na 6 Kha (3918), Na 4 Kha (6082), Lu 1 Kha 97438) and UP (57 5278)-- collided with one another. According to Gaindakot Police, the injured are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur-based Chitwan Medical College and their condition is normal. (RSS)
