Kickoff suffer first loss

KATHMANDU: Kickoff Futsal suffered their first defeat in Red Bull National Futsal League on Tuesday. In their seventh and final game of the first round, White Horse edged Kickoff 5-4 to inflict their first loss in the double round robin league home and away tournament. Manjil Maharjan and Ritesh Lama scored two goals each in White Horse’s victory. Manoj Prajapati added the other. Despite the defeat, Kickoff lead Group ‘A’ with 18 points. In a Group ‘B’ game, Sankhamul defeated Tahachal Futsal 2-1 to climb to the top of the table with 16 points from seven matches. (PR)


Prime Cup from November 25 

KATHMANDU: Prime College is organising the fourth Prime Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament from November 25. A total of 24 teams – 16 in boys and eight in girls’ sections – are participating in the league-cum-knockout tournament. All the matches of the eight-day tournament will be played at Prime College basketball court in Naya Bazaar. Hosts Prime had won the boys’ title, while Xavier International College are the holders in girls’ category. (PR)


Valley Public enter semis 

KATHMANDU: Both the girls’ teams of hosts Valley Public entered the semi-finals of the 11th Valley Public Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Wednesday. In the quarter-finals, Valley Public ‘A’ defeated Eden Bridge 36-24 and their ‘B’ team overcame Trungram International Academy 21-10. In other girls’ last eight matches, Innovative beat Greenland 21-17 and HHCA saw off Bhadrakali 35-27. Likewise, HHCA beat TIA 47-42, Mt Kailash hammered Wilson  45-17, Innovative edged Odyssey 38-36 and Gyan Niketan sidelined Angel Heart 56-33 in boys’ quarter-finals. (PR)
