Acharya had gone to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 19, 2016, for employment. He was left in the lurch after the company he worked for—the Musari Almosaru Company—closed down, said the Prime Minister Secretariat in a statement.
Acharya had contacted the PM’s Secretariat two months ago to appeal for rescue.
Following the direction from the prime minister, the PM Secretariat had called Acharya’s family and forwarded the rescue process. He was rescued on November 14 in coordination with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Thursday, Acharya was at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar to express his gratitude.
He thanked the Nepal government and the Prime Minister’s Secretariat for facilitating his return home and saving his life.
Prime Minister Dahal said the government was serious regarding the problems faced by Nepalis abroad.
